Privacy of goals is important to ensure confidentiality, protect sensitive information, and respect individual or team preferences.
It allows individuals to set personal goals without unnecessary exposure, fosters a safe and trusted environment for sharing aspirations and challenges, and encourages open communication and collaboration when appropriate.
Goals on Mesh can be Public or Private.
- Public Goals: Public Goals can be viewed by anyone in the entire company. Someone not in your team, can also simply click on your profile and see the Public Goals you're working on.
- Private Goals: Apart from the Goal owner, Private Goals can also be viewed by the owner's manager, manager of the manager and anyone directly upward in the hierarchy chain. For example, if you work in the "Marketing" team, your Goals will be visible,
-
- Your manager (Head of Marketing),
- Their manager (VP of Marketing) and
- Even their manager (Chief Marketing Officer)
But they will not be visible to let's say VP of Sales or the CTO, as even though they're senior to you, they neither belong to the list of your managers, nor your collaborators or their managers.
You can control the visibility of goals while creating or editing them.
Controlling visibility while creating a goal
Step 1: On the Mesh.ai homepage, go to the Me tab on the left side navigation panel
Step 2: Select Goals from within the Portfolio section
You will be led to a list of your goals that have been setup on Mesh under the My goals tab.
