To suit the goal-setting methodologies of most companies, Mesh provides the option of having cascading goals, where a goal can have one or more child goals.
Certain goals have child goals to break down complex objectives into smaller, manageable tasks, ensuring clarity, alignment, and a structured approach towards achieving the overarching goal. This hierarchical structure helps in organising efforts, assigning responsibilities, and tracking progress at different levels, promoting efficiency and coordinated execution.
To further drive flexibility, we also provide the option to cascade objectives into child objectives, which can further be cascaded down to child goals as well.
Thus, if you have the requisite permissions, you can create and align a child goal or objective to any goal or objective of your organisation.
You can add a child goal directly while creating the parent goal, or later while editing the parent goal.
Adding the Child Goal on creating the parent goal
You can read more about the steps to create a goal here_____
Once you have defined all the characteristics of the parent goal/objective, you can choose the option to Save and add Child to add a child Goal from the split button dropdown beside the default state.
This saves the goal that you were creating and opens the Add goal panel with alignment set to the already created goal.
Depending on your organization’s access control settings, you can also add child objectives to a goal/objective.
Adding the Child Goal while editing the parent goal
