Initiatives are the easy way to create and track projects that align to your key results using Mesh.
They help you create action items that can help you achieve the overarching key result.
To create an initiative on Mesh for a particular key result
Step 1: Choose the key result that you wish to create initiatives for. You can access different types of goals based on your requirements and depending on your access control to the workspace.
To create initiatives for your personal key results, click on Me and click on Goals under the Portfolio section.
You would see your goals (objectives and key results) under the My Goals section.
Step 2: On selecting the required key result, the Edit goal panel will open up. The panel will have a navigation pane towards the left.
Click on Initiatives, which would be the bottom-most entity in the navigation pane.
Step 3: The panel will scroll down to the Initiatives section (card)
Click on the Add New Initiative button at the top right of the Initiatives section.
Step 4: The Add Initiative form will open up as an extended panel.
Use this space to define your initiative with a Title (mandatory), supported by additional information such as Owners, Collaborators, Description, Start Date and Due Date.
By default, the Start Date and Due Date would be set to the start and end date of the timeline of the parent key result respectively
You can also configure the visibility of the initiative in case you wish to make the initiative visible to the entire organization. By default, the initiative would be visible to its Owners, Collaborators and their respective Managers.
Step 5: Once you have defined the initiative, click on the Save button to create the same.
Your initiative would be created successfully.
You can view the initiatives that you have created in the Edit Key Result panel or the Initiatives module.
We recommend you to create and align initiatives to your goals to foster a sense of action and accountability, and ensure that your goals are taken to completion.
